I completely agree. It is a true disgrace that none of the Bartram ladies gave any thought to Fanny's happiness. The fact that she was 18, not 15, makes it even more of a disgrace. What a callous, self-centered family the Bertrams were, except, of course, Edmund. As a first-time reader, I was quite incensed by that passage!
