Hi, all!

I vaguely remember reading a quote from JA, to the effect that Fanny was her favourite among her heroines.

Why might that be? I'd generally expect JA to have wry and subtle and unsentimental reasons for her preferences. So, on the way through, I'll be looking out for ways to interpret Fanny other than at face value... but trying not to post anything too speculative.
