in consequence of the missive, Recommended Book by Deresiewicz, penned by Natchie
It turned out to be one of the most interesting and perceptive books about JA's work I have read in a very long time. It is an enjoyable and accessible read - not at all 'dry', and is packed full of new angles for thinking about JA's work
Deresiewicz has given me a lot of new perspectives on the novels. Just one example is his take on Mary Crawford and how the London society world has shaped her thinking and behaviour - I thought it very nuanced.
I'm very glad to have this book; it was affordably priced and well worth the money. I'm sure I shall be referring to it it many times in the future.
So a big 'Thank You' for an excellent recommendation!
