This was my first GR of the Letters, and it has been a real eye-opener. I began with no great expectations, but have gained so much:

- A better understanding of JA's family, and lots of juicy L&T nuggets.

- A better sense of JA the woman, as opposed th JA the novelist, and some lovely examples of her humour.

- Most intriguingly, those hints of characters and situations in her novels gleaned from her real-life encounters.

It has been a real treat. Thank you everybody for patiently answering my queries and for making this GR such an unexpected pleasure.
