I thought JA actually preferred Brag to Speculation Written by kathleen (elder) (8/14/2011 2:26 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, A pair royal of Braggers ?, penned by Mandy N

She says this: "The preference of Brag over Speculation does not greatly surprise me I believe, because I feel the same myself ... " [emphasis mine]

And I think the Edward mentioned was her nephew, not her brother -- I assumed JA had played the card games w/ the children, and she was in charge of the Speculation players ("under my patronage").
