Movement   Written by BarbaraB (1/29/2010 9:18 p.m.)
Are you new?

In this Group Read I am struck by the amount of movement that takes place amongst this circle of family and friends. I imagine it was the same throughout the gentry (and above) and I guess it is an up-close look at one of the occupations the leisured classes could indulge in. There seems to be two main reasons for so much movement: first, traveling for vacations/visiting/relaxation/health issues and second, traveling to be of assistance to family and friends.

There is also a great deal of movement within their immediate environment whether at home or away---a lot of back and forth visiting, walking, shopping, and general going about.
