One can feel for Jane at Castle Square without Cassandra.
Of the Miss Ballards, she apparently sees no right for them 'by Taste or Feeling' to take a tour. She seems rathre melancholy or unwell.In a confined domestic sphere, Jane can only read Southey's account of a tour of England.
