Is this the original owner of Godmersham, who gave this estate to Edward? And is this the person who is named Mrs K. by Jane? Why doesn´t she live in Godmersham together with Edward and his family?

White Friars sounds like the name of an Inn to me, but that doesn´t seem logical. Is it the name of another estate or just a village near Canterbury?

Sorry for all those questions. I am not familiar yet with all those names and places...
