Are you new?

strawberries have a fairly short season in any one location. If you want fresh picked berries from your area, there's about a 2 month window (of course they're grown in other countries and other places and shipped around now so they're available for a longer time, but that's not the same). I always imagined them to be fairly rare and thus extra prized. (And they're delicious!)
