Lots of visits   Written by Myretta (1/25/2010 10:44 a.m.)
Are you new?

Visiting Godmersham appears to entail visiting, and being visited by, friends in the surrounding area as well.

JA seems to have been immediately invited to White Friars in Canterbury to spend some time with Mrs. Knight, who appears to be fond of the entire Austen family (with the possible exception of James and Mary). -- I've linked the Kent map again below so you can see the relationship between these locations.

The Moores (the former Harriot Bridges) come to Godmersham in their curricle.

and join the party to witness the dragging of the fish pond at Buckwell, a farmhouse on the Godmersham property

And plans for a number of engagements in the days to come.
