in consequence of the missive, Letter 38: May I introduce you to......., penned by JulieW
It seems Mr. Evelyn did a kind service for Mrs. Austen and Jane by inquiring of the proprietor on a fix for the water problems of No. 12 GPB. I hope my interpretation is correct because with such helpful activity and subsequent joy riding, I can only think well of Mr. Evelyn even if his inquiry on Jane presence at Sidney Gardens inspired her imagination to a degree alarming to Cassandra.
I must admit the likeness of a gently scolding Cassandra and a somewhat penitent Jane to Elinor & Marianne is pleasing to me. The more I read Janeís letters, the more I feel at least the closeness of her and Cassandraís relationship could be the model for the Dashwood sisterís relationship. I cannot imagine another model more worthy than theirs! (;D)
