In letter 37, JA wrote that she could not "utterly abhor [the Holders], especially as Miss Holder owns that she has no taste for Music".

This made me think of Mrs. Elton in "Emma". I suspect that JA had met too many women in her time who professed to aDORE music but really knew little about it and cared less! ;-)
