'... Mrs Chamberlayne is very capital'   Written by Mandy N (9/20/2007 11:35 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Letter 37 and 38; Walking with Mrs Chamberlayne...., penned by JulieW
Are you new?

Mrs Chamberlayne and Jane appear to be capital walkers.
'Our grand walk to Weston was again fixed for Yesterday & was accomplished in a very striking manner'.
Bath and Weston appear a few miles apart...we must allow them to be excellent walkers. ;-)
Hopefully, the excercise, the fresh air and views revived Jane's spirits, to some degree.
In Letter 38 she mentions their Walk to Lyncombe & Widcombe
'was very beautiful'.
A more contented note in Jane's letters, perhaps.
The energetic Mrs Chamberlayne walking around the hills of Bath seems the sort of companion Jane needed at this time.

Wonderful map & a great picture of circa 1800 Bath, thankyou Julie.

Of course, I am reminded of Catherine Morland and Eleanor Tilney exploring the walks around Bath. (NA)
