Mr & Mrs LP's portraits   Written by Deborah Julia (9/19/2007 1:54 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Letter 35: The Leigh Perrots., penned by JulieW
Are you new?

The painting of Mrs LP shows not only what an attractive woman she was in her younger days but also hints that she was one confident and determind lady and by golly didn't she need to be confident and determind when faced with months of inprisionment, albeit in the goaler's home?

I noticed that Mr LP had very sticking facial features particularly his nose. As Mrs Auten was very proud of her own aristocratic nose, I wonder if she was proud of her brothers nose too.

Mr LP's poem which he enclosed in a seed pearl necklace, is very touching. They seem to be a devoted couple.

I too have noticed (reading between the lines of JA's letters) that JA got on with her uncle LP and as you say had a friendly relationship, but was rather less keen on aunt LP, I wonder why?
