Letter 33: An easier journey?   Written by Line (9/18/2007 7:54 p.m.)
Are you new?

In letter 33, JA wrote:

While I was [at Deane] a sudden fall of snow rendered the roads impassable, and made my journey home in the little carriage much more easy and agreeable than my journey down.

How could a snowfall make JA's journey easier and more agreeable (we know how Mr. Woodhouse reacted to the idea of snow in "Emma"), or was she talking about something else?
