(Only slightly) tangential ethical question   Written by JoAnn (9/18/2007 12:21 a.m.)
Are you new?

This is my first time reading through someone's personal letters, and I'm struck by how odd it feels. These were letters written with no expectation of anybody reading them except for the intended recipient. Has anybody (that you know of) ever done an analysis of the ethics of making such letters public and/or taking on the task of studying them? Or is this just part and parcel of being a famous person? Is there anybody else here who is hung up on this issue or has dealt with it previously?

And if this isn't the place to post this, please let me know and I can move it somewhere else.
