Yes, I love that despite the physical distance between them, Jane still engages in this teasing sort of banter in her letters to Cassandra. It really makes this line stand out from letter 29:

I have now attained the true art of letter-writing, which we are always told is to express on paper exactly what one would say to the same person by word of mouth.
