Are you new?

I assume it's related to the French "come-si, come-ca" which means (in modern French, anyway) "so-so." I believe "come-ca" by itself is short-hand for "how are you doing?" So maybe she's saying it was okay, but nothing spectacular?

Of course, I know even less about French than I know about JA, so take whatever I say with a grain of salt. :-)
