posess gardens, as you can hopefully see from the map, below:

The grander houses in the Royal Crescent, The Circus and along Pultney Street did posess gardens.You can see their tiny designs.

One of these is now open to the public: The Georgian Garden is attatched to a house which fronts Brook Street and backs on to the Gravel Walk( made famous in Persuasion)

However, I do agree that in this instance JA is making an attempt at a joke: I think it unlilkely that Cassandra's bees would be brought along with their hives to Baht.
