In Jane's own handwriting.   Written by Mandy N (12/2/2006 9:08 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Here is the facsimile of Letter 27, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

In Letter 27 card games are mentioned- 'a whist & casino table'; and Jane also mentions playing a pool at Commerce.

Jane mentions cards in her early novels- whist and casino in P&P, casino in S&S and commerce in P&P and NA.

Second sets of lines may've been used when a letter writer had a great deal of news on family, friends and events- in Letter 27 are extra lines on Frank, and a marriage, etc.

For Jane and Cassandra, the post office must have held great charm !
Thankyou for this letter scan, Julie and Myretta- gives a nice, authentic feel to see a Regency era letter.
