Assembly room in the inn.   Written by Reeba (12/1/2006 3:39 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, The name 'The Crown' rings a bell ;), penned by Reeba
Are you new?

In her letter 25 to Cassandra she writes about a ball;

".... it was in general a very ungenteel one.."

Of course she is talking about the assembly room at the inn in Gosport, where James was led to, when searching for Charles.

I just wondered, perhaps assembly rooms at inns were all the same, and if they were then Jane would not have gone to the one at the inn in Basingstoke.
