Still more reminders of P&P   Written by Line (11/30/2006 10:09 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, There was a scarcity of men. Letter 24., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

Yes, this reminded me of the various ladies sitting down for want of a partner at the Meryton Assembly. It makes sense that JA would dance with a female friend in a pinch - I guess young women have always danced together when there were not enough men, not just at the dances I went to as a teenager! ;-)

I like this in Letter 25 also:

I hope it is true that Edward Taylor is to marry his cousin Charlotte. Those beautiful dark Eyes will then adorn another Generation at least in all their purity.

It seems that Mr. Darcy was not the only admirer of beautiful dark eyes. ;-) I wonder who they belonged to - the lady, the gentleman, or both?

P.S: I wonder why Lady Bolton was so much improved by a wig?
