This is neat Julie W!   Written by Robbin (11/30/2006 8:16 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Here's an 18th century, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

I think the mixture must have had a neutral or pleasant smell since they beat it out of the breeches instead of trying to rinse it out with water--this surprised me, I guess because that is the way it is done today. It seems hard work to clean clothes back then so I guess this week I will not even think about complaining on the amount of laundry I have and just be thankful for modern appliances! ;D Thank you for the interesting details of JA’s life, they add a depth to the GR that is so very enjoyable! ;D
