I did suspect that since her "business" failed that she was not as high in society as the Austen's though I wasn't aware what her business was and that it was of a nature such as landlady. The information you have just provided, does eliminate a good deal of the wonder of what happened to her. Still a sorry business, that, and the Austen's seem to have thought well of her.
