a chaise..:-)

From the French for “chair”:-)

The Chaise was originally a closed, two-wheeled, one-passenger, one-horse carriage of French origin, adapted from the sedan chair.The often had a collapsible hood. They were ligthweigth vehicles.

here is a post I wrote for the last Northanger Abbey GR about chairs( and their use in Bath),so you can compare them.
