description is great - their mutual agreeableness as to its position etc is amusing - "nothing but their own surface can have been smoother." :D

These pretty tables are so useful. I'm not surprised they conrinue to make such tables even today - I mean this convenient design.
To increase and decrease the size of the table as one would wish!!!

Another example of something which I know of (we have one such - a modern insignificant one, of course), but didn't know what it was all about.
