I dare say Emma Woodhouse does seem to have the exact sentiments, and the book does end this way.

Strong shades of MP are there too.
I wonder about JA leaving out details like this. Wouldn't Cassandra have been interested in knowing what play she saw? Or perhaps they were both so patient, and both knew JA would talk about it when they were together.

JA does say in Letter 20;
"Heaven forbid that I should ever offer such encouragement to Explanations, as to give a clear one on any occasion myself."
