Isabella's remark, Written by Mandy N (11/29/2006 9:26 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, But then in Letter 21, she implies the opposite, penned by Laurel

Immedieately came to my mind-

'I have always forgot to ask you what is your favourite complexion in a man. Do you like them best fair or dark ?'

An instance of a sisterly joke making it's way into the MS of 'Catherine' (later NA) perhaps. :)
