Speaking of Mr. Wither's illness, JA wrote "It was a fine thing for conversation at the ball". How true that is - I can just picture a group of people who probably know each other very well and see each other regularly, running out of topics of conversation at a party. Not to be unsympathetic, but as JA wrote, somebody's sudden illness or accident always gives people something to talk about!
In Letter 19, I enjoy the way JA describes their rooms as having "dirty quilts and everything comfortable"!
