Bath- food items.   Written by Mandy N (11/27/2006 6:39 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Ah,well, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

In Letter 19, JA in Bath refers to what I think were luxury food items in Georgian times- Edward went out for,
'Tea, Coffee, & Sugar &c., & going out to taste a cheese himself will do him good.-'

I love cheese ! Fawcett comments Bath cheesemongers advertised
Chedder, Double Gloucester, 'old Mere', and ripe Stilton. (p.23)

Actually, you recommended this book some time ago Julie on the L&T board, so thankyou for re-directing me to it. :)
At the front, it includes a map of the shopping area of central Bath and examples of tradesmen's cards.
