Shops   Written by JulieW (11/27/2006 1:38 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Terrific map- Invitation to Bath., penned by Mandy N
Are you new?

The central part of Bath,( the lower left part of our map) whihc inlcuded the Abbey Churchyard,,The Terrace Walk, the Pump Rooms (27),Bond street (8),Milsom Street(23), Broad street, and Stall Street were all part of the shopping area.

The vast variety of shops available to teh visitor to BAth were undoubtedly part of it atractions. A fabulous bok on teh subject whihc I can highly recommend is Bath Commercialis'd by Trevor Fawcett.

I'll scan in another more detailed map of the shopping area in Bath at the end of the 18th century later on,Mandy if you can bare with me.
