Regards to Mrs Knight.   Written by Mandy N (11/26/2006 2:15 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mrs Knight, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

My impression of Mrs Knight is of a generous, kindly lady to give up most of the family fortune and a grand house for Edward.
With due respect to Mrs Austen, I think Edward was fortunate to be adopted by the Knights,- not just to gain an inheritance but
Mrs Knight's words to him indicate she was materal sort who treated Edward as a son.

I'm still unsure of Jane's words... Perhaps she did feel
Mrs Knight kept back too much income for herself, while Edward and Elizabeth had a growing family.

Interesting link and picture of Godmersham.
