in consequence of the missive, Writing music, penned by Robbin
Cassandra was staying with Edward and Elizabeth at thier home, Godmersham Park when JA wrote letter number 17 to her. Here is a picture of Elizabeth.
Jane Austen transcribed music notation into her manuscript music books, which are now in the custody of the Jane austen memorial Trust at Jane Austen's House in Chawton. Patrick Piggott in his very intersting book The Innocnet Diversion gives an intersting account fo these books. Iam Gammie and Derek McCulloch of Corda music have published a small booklet entitled Jane Austen's Music which details not only the contents of her own manuscript music books, but also the books of printed music now in the Trusts poseession, and which may have been the property of JA, Elizabeth or some unknown member of the Bridges family. |
