LOL lines (and a question)   Written by Line (11/26/2006 10:16 a.m.)
Are you new?

“You express so little anxiety about my being murdered under Ashe Parke Copse by Mrs. Hulbert’s servants, that I have a great mind not to tell you whether I was or not.”

But why would JA joke about this? Was being murdered by servants a common theme of novels or newspaper headlines at the time?

“There were more dancers than the room could conveniently hold, which is enough to constitute a good ball at any time.”

“There was one gentleman…who I was told wanted very much to be introduced to me; - but as he did not want it quite enough to take much trouble in effecting it, we never could bring it about.”

Please excuse the number of posts I've put up already, but I have to go out for the day later, and I didn't want to miss anything! (Can you tell that I prepared ahead for this GR?) Thanks for the questions you've answered already, Julie!
