Lying awake and talking till two…   Written by Robbin (11/26/2006 10:02 a.m.)
Are you new?

I did not return home that night or the next, as Martha kindly made room for me in her bed, which was the shut-up one in the new Nursery.—Nurse & the Child slept upon the floor; & there we all were in some confusion & great comfort;--the bed did exceedingly well for us, both to lie awake in & talk till two o’clock, & to sleep in the rest of the night. (Letter 17)

I like this picture of JA enjoying her friend’s company in a sort of slumber party. I like to stay up late talking with my friends too even at forty-something—although I do have a guest room. It also reminded me of the scene of Jane and Lizzy talking under the sheets after the assembly ball in P&P3. :D
