(BTW, thanks, Julie - only a couple of posts so far, but full of excellent information already!) I guess I'll be the first non-moderator to post at this group read...

Once again in letter 17, JA wrote that she had laughed several times at Cassandra’s last letter, and that in future her sister should read her own letters five times over before sending them, so she would find them as entertaining as JA did. I remember during our last “Letters” GR, that JA also mentioned how entertaining she found her sister’s correspondence. This is not the severe and intimidating Cassandra that appears elsewhere. How I wish that some of C’s letters to JA had survived, as well as Jane’s to C!
