Are you new?

For me, this is the most rewarding aspect of studying an author's life through letters [and journals, when available]. I love uncovering the "seeds" of characters and events, which will eventually blossom into components of novels. :-)

(If anyone is interested, there is an excellent example of this in Virginia Woolf's diary that I could easily share at the library.)
