Time makes all the difference   Written by Mary Ellen (9/2/2005 1:12 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, After nearly 200 years...., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

How I wish that Jane had put a batch of her most scandelous letters to Casandra into a safe deposit box to be opened 200 years after her death. In the few years after her death, reading her letters would have been nosey. But now, with everyone involved long dead it makes history for us.

Jane gave her letters as gifts to those she loved; it was up to them to decide what best to do with them. We are fortunate to be able to read so many.

I visited a famous ancient monument in Ireland. There were some grafitti markings. These markings are now 200 years old and are being preserved as carefully as the 10,000 year old monument. New grafitti would be carefully cleaned away.
