Earle Harwood & his wife?   Written by CathyW (9/1/2005 6:07 p.m.)
Are you new?

I was wondering if Jane ever met Earle Harwood's wife? In the Biographical Index of the book, the information says the wife was of a questionable background. One wonders if she was just poor, servant class or really of questionable moral character.

Anyone know? This is another example of Jane being aware of a lot more than one supposes a clergyman's daughter might know, especially one who lived principally in the country. The story of Earle & his wife must have been well known to her.
