I should think   Written by JulieW (9/1/2005 10:06 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, More on Sara Scott..., penned by Robbin
Are you new?

the Austens would take their lead, in a social situation, from teh established family's attitude: but we can take JAs remarks in two ways don't you think ?.

She might be being sarcastic about them being able to consider receiving her if she "behaved herself for another year": or she migth just agree with them.

I tend towawrds the view that she saw this as an imprudent marriage: Miss Scott appers to have had no money to swell the family coffers, and let's face it, they needed it.

I don't think JA approved of marraiges based on attraction alone, especially if they were hastily gone into.

I have the feeling this marraige might fit into that category.

But I do wonder how Miss Scott had not behaved?
