I seem to recall reading somewhere or other - I'm sure someone else out there will know what I refer to - that one of JA's brothers (Frank or Henry?) was expected to marry Miss Pearson (though I don't believe there was a formal engagement), but changed his mind - and this later created some discomfort between the two families.
