'Without either hat or bonnet'. Letter 6   Written by Reeba (8/30/2005 4:54 p.m.)
Are you new?

We went in our two carriages to Nackington, but how we divided, I shall leave you to surmise, merely observing that as Eliz: and I were without either hat or bonnet, it would not have been very convenient for us to go in a chair.

Does this put P&P3 in better light, because of Lizzy's lack of it therein?
Or was this a rare occasion, and one wouldn't go out without hat or bonnet?
