And what has she to do with the "Black Hole at Calcutta"? ;-)

I am at a loss to grasp the meaning of this sentence at the end of paragraph 1 on p. 10 (Letter 6).

I found a reference to "Black Hole of Calcutta" in Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Hole_of_Calcutta

I realize that Jane is applying her wonderful wit, but I'm just not getting it.
