Uppercase letters   Written by Maisy (8/30/2005 4:37 p.m.)
Are you new?

Letters 5 and 6, in particular, have a great many words capitalized in the middle of sentences. I'm curious as to whether this was a common practice, or something unique to JA? I've not seen this in the various editions of the novels that I've flipped through, so I'm assuming that she didn't have this habit when writing her prose?

(It reminds me of the originals of Emily Dickinson's poems, with capitialized words mid-line.)
