What a sweet watercolor.   Written by Carolyn Ruth (8/30/2005 12:30 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Walking home, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

What book is this? Is it old or new? I love the red coats on the ladies (dashing, and would be quite the thing during this time of red-coated regiments etc) and are all four of them carrying treats to share at the dinner they walk to?

What I wonder is why did JA's party only need two umbrellas? If they needed any, you'd think they'd need more than two. Was she saying she was with less than her whole party on the way home from dinner, or was an umbrella such a luxury and two was therefore worth mentioning? Julie, help!
