Big sister Cassandra is to advise JA as to how much money to leave to Richis, a servant at Rowling who presumably acted as JAs maid while she stayed with Edward and Elizabeth.

Should she give her half a guinea ( 10 shillings and sixpence) or five shillings?

So , for JA, like other country house visitors, visiting was not entirely a free ride ;-)
