Tom Lefroy was Mrs Anne Lefroy's nephew Written by Mary Ellen (8/30/2005 12:46 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, I agree, penned by Line

My source is p30 of Jane Austen's World by Maggie Lane which I happily snagged at the annual meeting auction. Claire Tomalin does not quite come out and say it very clearly in her biography. The relationship is briefly mentioned in Jane Austen and the Clergy on p151.
