Youare right   Written by JulieW (8/29/2005 1:54 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, If you think THAT's weird..., penned by Joan Ellen
Are you new?

but this Charles migth have qualifed as alomst a brothr, dont you think?

We noted yesterday that there was not really any of the usual fromality of address between the families in their correspondance .

When Jane and Cassandra returned from school in 1786 to Steventon their brothers Henry and little Charles, were living there, together with the othher men JA often writes about in these early letters.

John Willing Warren,Peter Warren, who Le Faye considered remaned a friend to JA for teh rest of her life, and both William and Charles Fowle, the third and fourth sons of the Fole family.

In JA: A family record Le Faye states that:

Charels in particular seems to have been a great friend of Jane and ther are some suspicioulsy flirtatious refernces to him in her early letters.

So....it may have been a joke, or not: -0

Which makes me wonder.

This chap became a sucessful barrister.Willliam Fowle a doctor.

JA was , if you like,"thrown in the path"of a lot of chaps in her father's household. Why did none take the bait?
