Letter 4 was written at Rowling: this was the first home of Edward Austen Knight and his wife Elizabeth.JA was staying with them when she wrote to Cassandra.

Edward, as you may recall had the great good fortune to be "adopted" by the Knights ,Thomas knight II of Godmersham and his wife Catherine Knatchbull.

This house was in Kent near Canturbury,and was owned by the Bridges family.

Edward had married Elizabeth Bridges in 1791.
