Are you new?

This is where the Harwoods ball was held.

This place was, according to Nigel Nicholson in his book The World of Jane Austen a centre for local society.

It had belonged to the Harwood family for five or six generations and its present owner , John Harwood, lived there in a style far above his income, a fact that his family discovered,to their dismay, only after his death...

Oopps.....

It is still standing,but not open to the public,as far as Iam aware.

Like Barbara I would have loved to have seen that illuminated greenhouse...
